Lawn care
is a science in itself and so of much of creating the perfect lawn requires correct
diagnosis of any problem the lawn may have. . Poor or weak grass growth may be
attributable to many factors and the remedy to the problem must be implemented
in the correct order and followed up. There is no one off answer to a lawn problem.
Weeds and moss are good indicators of a particular problem such as acidic soil,
wet areas and shaded areas and neglected lawns!
Lawn care is a 12 month operation. Grass does not stop growing and you must respond
to the change in the growing cycle throughout the year. The lawn is unfortunately
not recognised as the main area in a garden. Why - because so many people have
problems with their lawns and adopt the policy of 'if it is green it must be okay,
and I'll give it a cut and it will look so much better.'
At The Lawn Company and through this web site, we are striving to change public
perception. Lawns and grasses are every where, big or small, the best natural
playing surface in the world for sure and enjoyed each year by millions, young
and old.
The web site is the first place you should look for information on lawns and their
care and if you cannot resolve the problem quickly, post a question in the bulletin
board. With our experience and expertise we can quickly diagnose the problem,
sending samples for analysis in the more difficult cases, and then recommend the
correct treatment. It is always fun opening the post at our office, and seeing
what lawn owners have mailed us to diagnose.
Our network of Lawn Technicians is growing, but demand is high for our specialist
services and we are not covering all of the British Isles yet! We appreciate that
not everyone will require the direct services of a Lawn Technician to tend to
their lawn which is why the web site plays such an important part of our business.
We want you to be able to enjoy your lawn for everything that it is. It can be
perfected for your enjoyment but remember that it is a living plant too. Mowing
it too short is like expecting a wrongly pruned shrub or tree to flourish and
flower at the appropriate time of the year. Failing to feed the lawn on a regular
basis is asking for trouble - unlike a tree or shrub, a lot of the goodness applied
or naturally produced within the plant is removed each time you mow it.
The challenge that we have taken on at The Lawn Company is a big one but our ethos
of what we are hoping to achieve is simple - we are putting the 'Great' back into
the British lawn.
Enjoy your lawn - there is no excuse now on not knowing what to do with it or
where to get the information and advice from. We are up for it, are you?
